HairMax Laser Comb Review After 3 Years

With a BIG splash and hoopla back in January 2007, the HairMax Laser Comb received FDA Approval as a safe hairloss solution.  It made a name for itself as the next best thing since sliced bread (not that sliced bread can re-grow hair).

Popular talk shows as well as News programs had volunteers using the device to test its effectiveness in re-growing hair.  Alot of very positive reports from these volunteers professed more beautiful hair.  A few reported actual thickening and hair growth.

Now it is 3.5 years later.  What do the real consumers of this hair loss solution device think of it?

I began looking for consumer reviews of the HairMax Laser Comb and was surprised at the low amount of reviews.  I thought there would be many more found on "consumer review" type websites.

I did not want to use single reviews from blogs, yet desired to use reviews from people who actually purchased the HairMax Laser Comb, used it and rated / reported their results.

I found 42 (as of this writing) reviews on Amazon, 13 reviews on Drugstore .com and other reviews gathered together on few other hairloss type websites.

Amazon offers 42 reviews by buyers of the HairMax Laser Comb with an average 3.5 stars rating.  The reviews are broken down as follows:

11 Reviewers rated the device 5 stars, with the users saying it helped make their hair more beautiful, thick and a few reported re-growth.

11 Reviewers rated the device 4 stars, with users stating they are happy with the results as well.

This equals 50% happy with the results from using the HairMax Laser Comb.

8 Reviewers gave the HairMax 3 stars -- relatively happy with results, with some complaints regarding the cost of the device, time it takes and how it is used.

2 Reviewers gave it 2 stars with the same sort of comments as above.

10 Reviewers (25%) gave it 1 star with the major complaint being it did not work at all.

What is interesting, many of the 1 star reviewers did say their hair became prettier -- yet it was not worth the money nor effort.

On Drugstore .com, there are 13 reviews in all.  7 Reviewers rated it either 4 or 5 stars, 6 Reviewers rated it 1 star.  The reviewers on Drugstore .com of the HairMax either loved the device or hated it.

Although there are very few actual consumer reviews of this device, especially since thousands of them have been sold, it looks like it is a 50 / 50 either love it or hate it result.

It seems the HairMax Laser Comb comb works wonderfully well for a little over 50% of the the users who have rated it.

Unfortunately, there are the little less than 50% who are not happy with the device.

Being the this hair loss laser comb costs between $350 to $500 (depending on sales and discounts), you may wish to look for a comparable laser comb or laser brush that does not cost as much -- that is if you would like to try this type of device to help stop hair loss and regrow hair.
