LLLT Device May Help Stop Your Hair Loss

Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) was introduced several decades ago for numerous health problem solutions which included skin problems, muscle aches and pains, headaches as well as a hair loss solution.

Prior to the manufacture of home LLLT devices, a patient who wished to use this type of laser therapy had to visit a doctor's office, health spa or salon. The visits were very expensive, yet many people gained significant help with their health problem.

Low Level Laser Light Therapy works through electronic devices that emit a "low level" of laser light aimed at the problem area. The "light" helps increase blood flow to the area it is aimed at, thus giving the area's cells nourishment. As these cells are given nourishment, they are able to perform better, whether it is healing a strained muscle or even repairing hair follicles.

Low Level Laser Therapy Has FDA Approval

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the use of Low Level Light Therapy for hair loss and considers it a safe solution. They consider LLLT safe because it does not generate heat like high level lasers. LLLT is not known to ever cause any type of side effects like other types of hair loss treatments, either topical or internal.

Over three years ago, the FDA gave the HairMax Laser Comb company their approval to begin advertising their hair laser comb gadget to have the ability to safely help stop hair loss and help hair growth in men with the androgenetic alopecia problem.

Low Level Laser Light Therapy Home Devices

With the FDA approval for LLLT to help stop hair loss, along came a plethora of home devices using laser technology. Of course the HairMax Laser Comb was one of the most well known. As time has passed, more and more home devices have become available.

The prices for these devices vary widely, from around $20 to over $1000. There are free standing LLLT devices, hand-held as well as "caps" that emit the low level laser light.

The general directions for use seem to be to use the device at least three times a week for 15 to 20 minutes.

Positive results vary, probably based on the cause of the hair loss. Yet most consumers of these types of devices report a betterment of their hair quality usually withing 4 to 6 weeks of use. Some consumers report thicker and fuller hair within six months of continuous use.
